Paula Red

PAULA RED .
1960's.
A chance seedling found next to a block of McIntosh apple trees, in Sparta, Michigan, by grower Lewis Arends, who named the apple for his wife, Pauline.
Ripens with, and often mistaken for, Tydeman's Early Worcester, another McIntosh variety.
Both are scattered in the orchard.
